Tahitian Pearl and Black Diamond 18K Gold Earrings

$5,700.00

Mary imbued these opulent earrings with a bit of literal flexibility by knotting the black diamonds and Tahitian pearls on black silk. They are incredibly articulated, designed to move with you and sparkle against your skin from dawn until dusk (and back again). Although they carry the flavour of the Byzantine Empire in both design and palette, they are oddly modern as well. In the end, it's hard to go wrong with black diamonds, gold and a couple of stunning Tahitian pearls.

Black Tahitian pearls aren't really black at all. These are no exception: all shimmering darkness, with flashes of green, grey and violet against a brushed charcoal black velvet surface. This paired pearls are flattened rounds, not oval, but certainly a bit wider across their bellies than from tip to toe. Measuring 13.34x12.51mm and 13.30x12.35mm respectively, they are well-matched in shape, size and tone. Their luster is stunning, seemingly lit from within. Their surfaces are remarkably smooth, though they are, like most things in nature, perfectly imperfect.

The black diamond rondelles are roughly .5 carats each. Echoing the flattened round shape of the pearls, these gems are well-matched for size and shape, and comprise the perfect stem for the Tahitians. 18K gold accents flank the diamonds and pearls, and the drops fall from suspend hand-fabricated 18K gold French hooks 2.5" (6.35cm) from the point of your piercing.

These heirloom-quality earrings are one of a kind and ready to ship to you in a hand-crafted wooden keepsake box.
